What is contract hire?

Contract hire is a form of van leasing where you pay a fixed monthly rental over an agreed period (typically 24-48 months). At the end of the contract, you simply return the van. There is no balloon payment and no obligation to purchase.

Can I claim VAT back on contract hire?

Yes. If the van is used solely for business purposes, you can reclaim 100% of the VAT on the monthly rentals. If there is some private use, you can typically reclaim 50%.

What happens if I exceed the mileage allowance?

You will be charged an excess mileage fee per mile over the agreed allowance. We always recommend setting a realistic mileage to avoid this. If your needs change, we can often adjust mid-contract.
